Yolanda Tucker
Founder
Yolanda M. Tucker has over twenty years of experience serving as a Contracts Manager in several industries including aerospace, child welfare, government, and transportation. Yolanda’s passion to help small businesses understand the importance of developing and implementing procurement strategy in growing their business was found as she was helping small business owners in her role as a Contract Manager understand their current contract terms and conditions as well as their reporting requirements.
One of the business owners that Yolanda assisted in that capacity shared with Yolanda how the information she provided during a procurement training helped her business not only improve their performance on their current contract but to also grow by gaining additional contracts.
Years later, armed with years of procurement experience from her past positions and a master’s degree in Contracts and Acquisitions from Strayer University as well as a regulatory law certification from Florida Coastal School of Law, Yolanda was invited to participate in an entrepreneurial program entitled JaxBridges that was being facilitated by executives of the Jax Chamber of Commerce. JaxBridges is where Ready, Set, Procure! was born and launched. The rest is procurement history.
Yolanda also holds a master’s degree in international business from Florida Metropolitan University and she has been awarded numerous awards, including the Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Literary Award, a Key to the City of Lake Charles, LA. In addition to the Key to the City, August 11th has been designated as the Yolanda M. Tucker Day in Lake Charles, LA. She has also received The Powerful Words of Wisdom award from the University of North Florida.
